Well, here's a huge list of programs either for or usable by the blind and visually-impaired. Many of these are for dos, but some are for Windows 3.1 and 95. Not sure if they have anything for XP and I didn't check the links, so I'm sure some of them are dead. Still, a good resource for info if you wanna look for the files or download that hard-to-find ap if it does work. Got a few on my list. Many I'd never even heard of before tonight.

Among several other cool things, I finally found a program I'd heard about years ago but forgot it's name. It's called Talking Directory and has tons of stuff built-in, plus file management. It's basically a dos shell for blind users, and although I have all intentions of learning the os properly, it can never hurt to have something like this. The only thing is that this is a trial version. Fortunately, it'll just remind me to buy it. It won't stop working. I doubt the full version's still available. Same with recognito, the only ocr software listed on the blind-related site in the first post. Does anyone know of another one I can try aside from Oscar, which seems to have completely disappeared? Finally, can anyone recommend an accessible? all-in-one internet package that I wanted to use Nettamer but it's shareware and I'm not sure if some features are missing. They had a browser called Barb but I'm not sure if it's just a browser or what. I'd love to hear it talk though.
